Starting at 8.30 from Goreme, in front of the Middle Earth office, our bus takes us to Ihlara town centre (1.15 hours). The Valley is unique because of its history and civilizations. The whole valley has rock-cut underground dwellings and churches from the Byzantines. After a short tea break into the traditional tea-house, we walk about 3.5 hours and en route visit several rock-cut churches.  After a late lunch at the restaurant on the river at around 13.30, we continue walking by the river down to Selime town.

Second part of the valley offers you peacefulness. On the way to monastery , we visit unique rock-cut mosque. It does not take attention from outside.  but the inside of the mosque is impressive. And the walk ends nearby Selime Monastery. After visiting the monastery, we drive to a volcanic crater lake and stop for a quick swim.

 A Trek Back In Time

This trek will take us to the real villages, where you will get the chance to be witness to

the daily life of local people.

You can easily see villagers riding their horse carts to their vineyards or tending their orchards in the old traditional ways.

Trek in these untouched valleys

with chimneys around will lead you to villages where people left their home during 1924. We will see very fine examples of late ethnic settlements and architecture.

treck back in time cappadocia
This trip introduces you to the traditional villages of Cappadocia. Our transfer takes us to rural Kavak; a farming town where tourists do not normally tread. We walk from here to Bahceli where we have a cup of tea at the local tea house. From here, we walk an undulating route to Ayvali, and lunch in Aravan for an authentic, casual, delicious meal with friendly service. This is the only place in the region which offers organic food. After lunch we walk through Gomeda valley to Mustafapasa which, until 1924, was an old Greek town known as Sinassos. The Greek population was exchanged with Turks living in Greece, an old, sad story common in the history of Anatolia. After visiting the town we return to Goreme where the tour ends.

Hidden Churches of Cappadocia

You can explore the myriad valleys with their extraordinary rock formations beside the churches.

A different way to explore Cappadocia’s hidden beauties.

El-Nazar Church :  You’ll come to a conical formation that looks rather like an outsize molar. Inside, it is a small but impressively frescoed 10th-century church.

Mirror Church: 11th-century Aynalı (Symmetrical) Church,

the church and tunnels leading to other rooms at least some of which could be sealed off with rolling stones as in the underground cities.

Ortahisar castle  is one of the many villages that occupy this labyrinth of caves.

The only chance to have lunch in the valley in a beautiful cafe near by a chapel and hermitages.
