ACCOMMODATIONS, A SAMPLE OF STYLISH BOUTIQUE HOTELS AND LOVELY PENSIONS
Middle Earth Travel can offer a wide range of accommodations. From stylish boutique hotels to village houses, from small-scale hotels to family-run pensions, whatever your preference we can arrange it. In our suggested itineraries we have included comfortable places to stay. If you want to up or downgrade the level of accommodation, simply let us know and we can send you an alternative proposal.
We work with boutique hotels that are family-owned and managed. You will get the owners’ personal attention and care during your stay. You stay in comfortable rooms and may enjoy the comforts of a swimming pool, lush gardens or direct access to the sea. The rich breakfast tables are a pleasure to enjoy at length and dinners are varied and delicious, using local products and turkish specialities.
This hidden treasure of a boutique hotel lies in Hoyran, 20 min. away from the sea along the Lycian way. It offers spacious rooms furnished with comfortable antiques, home-made delicious food, a swimming pool and a sun deck surrounded by lush gardens from where you enjoy beautiful views across the sea in the distance all day long.
The boutique mountain lodge is located on the green, cool and silent slopes of Olympos mountain. Breakfast can be enjoyed outside on the terrace and consists of a very good buffet of fresh local fruits, local breads, eggs, cheeses etc. Dinner is very enjoyable, taken in the dining room warmed by a log fire (in april and october) or again on the terrace facing the swimming pool an gardens. It includes very authentic local dishes and good wines.
The lovely 100 year old mansion oversees the lagoon of Beymelek near Demre. The owners restored the house with great attention to all details and using only authentic building materials such as wooden windows and doors, mudbrick walls and ceramic tiles. With the traditional furniture, lovely carpets and hand-made embroideries the house breathes an incredibly friendly and authentic atmosphere. From the terraces where you can enjoy the lovely cooked meals with mostly locally grown ingredients, there are superb views towards the lagoon and sea.
In our village houses and pensions you will experience Turkish village life at first hand. Located in lovely villages surrounded by trees and mountains or on the coast near lovely beaches, the owners will make you feel at home and part of the family and local community. In a village house you stay with families that have transformed their home to accommodate guests. They live there themselves and ensure you have a great time. The pensions are small, local, family-run and friendly with a personal touch. The home cooked food allows you to sample the rich turkish cuisine.
The only way to reach the lovely pension in Kekova is by boat or on foot. It is ideal for a peaceful stay emerged in nature. You wake up in the quiet morning to hear the waves lap at your terrace as if you are on the deck of a boat. Breakfast consists of regional products and is rich and delicious. The Kekova lagoon that the pension is facing contains the remains of an ancient sunken city and is very clean, an ideal location for a boat tour and a swim in the crystal clear waters just outside your room.
These are definitely some of the best places to stay in during your Middle Earth Travel holiday!
We are now happily back home and still thinking about our nice trekking in Lycia we wish to express our appreciation and satisfaction for every aspect of the organization of same.
All participants were happy about the trekking and even the changes occurred in the program were ok since they gave us the opportunity to know better the inside of the country, so we suggest to modify your printed program accordingly.
Also, just to improve your program ,
we think that on the day of arrival it would be nice to have a sort of explanation on the whole trekking , as on the other hand somewhat already hinted in your printed program. Of course we will speak in your favour in all possible occasions.
Now, last but not least , many thanks to our most efficient leader Tuna and to our expert driver.
Special thanks for the hotel in Istanbul, nice and very well located.
In closing we shall appreciate to receive news re the efforts of your Mrs. Nilufer in connection with our cancellations of the hotels.
Thank you therefore for your cooperation and full of fond memories we say “All the Best to your Organization!”
Claudio and Sandro

In Kekova, sea kayaking around the ruins of a sunken city is a great experience. The ancient city sank gradually following an earthquake, there is not so much to see under the water but you can take tour of the ruins by kayaks and row around sarcophagii in the water.
There is a rock climbing garden near Antalya, called Geyikbayiri, with many bolted routes. Teachers are available for rock climbing lessons.
Two of Turkey’s most popular paragliding spots are on the Lycian Way. One is in Kas, and the second is in Fethiye, Oludeniz. Tandem flights with experienced instructors are availbale.
You can abseil down one of four canyons available with bolted security points. Some of them have long, 50 meter drops while some are easier with milder abseils.
Mountain bikes and experienced guides are available around Kas area. Lycian Way itself isn’t very suitable for mountain biking because the paths are narrow and hard for biking most of the times but there are many side dirt roads which are very interesting for mountain biking.
