Here is a list of activities that are available in St Paul Trail region (Lake District). You can choose any number of these options as well as any number of daywalks from the standard tours pages. You can choose walks and activities from different regions as well. For example, you can ask for, “Days 3-4-6 from 1 week cappadocia program, 2-3-7 from the St Paul trail, hot air balloon ride and rafting in cappadocia and visiting an old hamam in St Paul Trail.
Please check the map while you are doing this ! Long transfers mean more cost and less trekking ! Also you can add items that are completely out of our list. Then we will work all the information you send us to create a unique itinerary that will fit your desires.
Rafting
Koprulu river is a popular rafting spot and St. Paul Trail crosses this river exactly at the point where the rafts start their daily trips. During the season (april-october) there are always many groups so it is possible to do rafting as a group or to join a group individually as well.
Boat Ride on Lake Egirdir
On lake egirdir you can take a boat ride to cross the lake. Or you can join our friend Musa, the fisherman for a fishing cruise.
Trek through yazili Canyon
St Paul Way goes around the rim of this canyon because the old roman road going through is has collapsed. But when the water is not high ( june-september) you can also follow the canyon if you dont mind walking in knee deep water at some parts. You can walk on the old roman constructed road on the parts which are still safe and admire the level of engineering they have reached some two thousand years ago.
Visiting the ancient site of Adada
Definitely one of the highlights of the whole St Paul Trail Trek, the ancient city itself and the old stone construction road leading to it are both inspiring. Many of the buildings are still in quite good condition and the old road is incredibly beautiful. (St Paul Trail-1Week)
Climbing Mount Barla and/or Davraz and / or Dedegol
These 3 peaks are all around Lake Egirdir and reachable from Egirdir in one day. They dont require camping, accomodation in Egirdir and early wake up is sufficient. They all have wonderful view of Lake egirdir and environs from their summit. Mount Davraz is part of our standart St Paul Trail 1 week tour. All 3 peaks are around 3000 metres and they dont require technical climbing. Best Times for climbing them are May, June, September, October.
Ruins of Sagalassos
Recently a very successful piece of reconstruction was completed and the ancient nymphaeum (monumental fountain) was restored with the water from its original source! This and the ruins of the city perched on a mountian are very impressive to see. This visit can also be combined with a half day walk from the ruins to Isparta. |
