Here is a list of activities that are available in Likya region. You can choose any number of these options as well as any number of daywalks from the standard tours pages. You can choose walks and activities from different regions as well. For example, you can ask for, “Days 3-4-6 from 1 week cappadocia program, 2-3-7 from the St Paul trail, hot air balloon ride and rafting in cappadocia and visiting an old hamam in St Paul Trail.
Please check the map while you are doing this. Long transfers mean more cost and less trekking! Also you can add items that are completely out of our list. Then we will work all the information you send us to create a unique itinerary that will fit your desires.
Rock Climbing
There is a rock climbing garden near Antalya, called Geyikbayiri, with many bolted routes. Teachers are available for rock climbing lessons.
Horseback Riding
Horses are available from several ranches, both around Antalya and Fethiye ends of the Lycian Way.
Ancient site of Olympus
This lycian city was abondoned around the 7th century. It has an acropolis, bathhouses, temples, church, aquaduct and necropoli. The trees and the plants growing everywhere amidst the ruins give the site quite an exotic feeling. Depending on the level of your interest in history, this site may take two hours to a full day for visiting. (Lycianway-PCT)
Eternal Flames Of Chimerea
The flames of chimerea have been burning for thousands of year. It is a natural phenomena due to a unique geographical feature. It is best to visit this exciting site after sunset, in the dark. There is a ruined church, which used to be a temple to Hephaistos in the Lycian times and to fire in the earlier Persian times.
Antalya Museum
It has a very good collection of marble statues and sarcophagii from the greek and roman times. Also the many statues and sarcophagi from the lycian cities which we visit on the lycian way tours, are on display here.
Climbing the peak of Mt. Olympus
2367 m from sea level, this magnificient looking peak takes two or three days to climb. One night camping is required. It is not a technical climb. Best times for climbing this peak are May, September and October.
Paragliding
Two of Turkey's most popular paragliding spots are on the Lycian Way. One is in Kas, and the second is in Fethiye, Oludeniz. Tandem flights with experienced instructors are availbale.
Sea Kayaking
In Kekova, sea kayaking around the ruins of a sunken city is a great experience. The ancient city sank gradually following an earthquake, there is not so much to see under the water but you can take tour of the ruins by kayaks and row around sarcophagii in the water.
Canyoning
You can abseil down one of four canyons available with bolted security points. Some of them have long, 50 meter drops while some are easier with milder abseils.
Mountain Biking
Mountain bikes and experienced guides are available around Kas area. Lycian Way itself isn't very suitable for mountain biking because the paths are narrow and hard for biking most of the times but there are many side dirt roads which are very interesting for mountain biking.
Lycia Two Weeks Trek
This challenging new trek follows the highest and most rugged section of Turkey's first ever long-distance footpath - the Lycian Way. The route snakes its way through the Mediterranean's most dramatic coastline, to the limestone peaks of Mount Olympos, soaring high above the glittering sea. It descends through shady wooded valleys past the ruins of the Lycian city of Olympos to the isolated lighthouse on the ridge of Cape Gelidonia. The trek continues on coastal paths around the sheltered harbour and tiny islands of Ucagiz and ends with a day's boating, diving and swimming at the harbour village of Kas.
