DAY 1 Perge- Aspendos-Side
Tour starts with the Roman site Perge. Perge was an important commercial city on the ancient trading route starting from Side finishing in Ephesus. It has some fascinating remains like the colonnaded street, Roman bath, agora, unique remains like city entrance towers, water ways, and stadium. We head on to Aspendos secondly to see the best preserved theater of the Roman world. City was quite wealthy in the ancient times by the Köprüçay (ancient Eurymdon) navigable to the city. Aqueducts of the city are also fascinating and much worth to see. Lunch is near the river in one of the fish restaurants. In the afternoon we are going to explore Side where a modern town is standing on. The ancient site is much scattered in the modern town and the remains that are encountered at every turn gives a feeling of historical richness.
DAY 2 Termessos- Archeology Museum-Old City
Termessos was a Pisidian city built at a height of 1050 meters in the Taurus Mountains Termessos constitutes an unusual synthesis of a large number of rare plants and animal species, which are under protection in the Termessos National Park. The double ‘s’in Termessos provides linguistic evidence that the city was founded by Anatolian People. After having breath-taking views of Termessos we get back to Antalya for the Archeology Museum of Antalya. Museum is full of artifacts from different ancient regions of South coast. The sculpture saloon has impressive samples of Roman Period art. We have a nostalgic tour around the city by tram at the end of the day. |
